Malbank Coaches Health and Safety
Seat Belt Safety
MALBANK COACHES complies with the new Department of Transport Seat Belt Regulations.
Risk Assessment and Safety Management Procedures
It is Company Policy that all MALBANK COACHES drivers are trained and appropriately qualified in all aspects of P.C.V regulations covering drivers duties.
Our main priority is passenger safety. All drivers are trained to ensure that there is no danger to either passengers or vehicles. In case of emergency or incident the driver will provide emergency supplies, which are located on every vehicle. The driver will also make passengers aware of fire exits.
All MALBANK COACHES are fully maintained to the vehicle and Operating Services Agency (V.O.S.A.) Standards. All vehicles are checked every day before each journey commences as part of the 'Daily Inspection'; which entails the checking of all lights, emergency buzzers, Seat belts and other minor checks. Every six weeks a full safety inspection of all major parts is performed by our fully qualified mechanics. If the vehicle has any defaults it will be noted in a 'default sheet', which all vehicles are provided with.
All members of MALBANK COACHES staff are given an induction explaining all policies and procedures, which also includes driver's hours and breaks. All drivers have a Criminal Record Background (CRB) check prior to their commenced employment.
The safety of all our passengers is of paramount importance. It is the prime objective of MALBANK COACHES to carry all passengers in a safe environment as is physically possible. It is MALBANK COACHES policy to make sure our drivers abide by the rules of the company.
Risk Assessment of all Journeys
We assess all journeys to be undertaken, in respect of location, the route taken and safe parking at the destination as to allow passengers safe access to and from the vehicle.
Prior to commencement of all journeys in accordance with E.E.C regulations covering P.C.V operation, if the vehicle is not fitted with the 'fasten seat belt sign', the driver will inform all group leaders, teachers, supervisors that the vehicle is fitted with seat belts and must be worn. The location of fire exits, first aid kits and fire extinguishers are all clearly marked on all vehicles. It is laid down in E.C law that all teachers, group leaders and supervisors of a children's party that it is their responsibility to ensure all children under the age of 16 are seat belted before the journey begins.
